Due to the unfolding situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) our main priority is to ensure the health and safety of both our customers and our colleagues.
As there is an ongoing need to keep homes and essential buildings maintained, warm, safe and secure, hardware stores have been nominated as essential retailers during this time and are excluded from the non-essential store closures.
Frank Howard Tools & Fixings is open with the following reduced hours.
Braintree branch 7.30am - 5pm
Bishop Stortford branch 8.00am - 3.30pm
Chelmsford branch 8.00am - 3.30pm
To protect Staff and customers alike we are operating a trade counter with a one in one out policy. Please be respectful of the social distancing guidelines and can we ask customers to be patient.

For the time being we’ve made the decision that our Braintree branch will be accepting only essential Click & Collect Orders and Home Delivery Orders. We have temporarily closed our Chelmsford & Bishop’s Stortford branches.

Our dispatch and delivery service is currently fully operational providing next day delivery. We are working hard to ensure that this can continue for as long as possible despite the further challenges that will inevitably arise.

In these unprecedented times, we want to reassure our customers.
Frank Howard Tools & Fixings is still ‘Business as usual’ and we will continue to be until advised otherwise. Deliveries will continue and will remain contact less until further notice and all our branches remain open, so we can continue to service your requirements.
We are taking the spread of COVID- 19 extremely seriously and we will continue to stay close to the government advice, as our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers.
Please be assured that we are doing everything in our power to keep the business running as normal, and we will also be looking at other ways we can assist our customers as the situation evolves.

Dear valued customer,
I am writing to you today to keep you informed regarding our Personal Protection Equipment supplies.
Due to the spread of the Coronavirus and this now being declared as a global emergency, there are inevitably, going to be some delays on the arrival of goods from the Far-East into the UK.
We are noticing a wide shortage of Personal Protection Equipment varying from disposable gloves to particulate filters. This means that we are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain many of our usual PPE lines, due to them being used within the countries they are produced in, or containers of goods are being held back from shipment due to the virus.
Frank Howard Tools & Fixings Ltd take the quality and level of Personal Protective Equipment we supply seriously and as a result we will still be standing by our BSIF suppliers in sourcing alternative products where we can. There may be a delay of up to 8 weeks on many lines, but rest assured we are sourcing alternative products that offer the same level of protection as those you have been previously supplied.
If you are at all concerned about the status of any of your current orders, please contact the Frank Howard sales office or your account sales representative, who will look into any queries you may have.
We will keep all of our customers updated with the status of our PPE and hope to return to full supply as soon as possible.
